WASHINGTON, D.C. ? Georgetown University?s men?s basketball player Jeff Green  (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) has been named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for his efforts during the week of December 13.

Green averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and 3.3 blocks in a 2-1 week for the Hoyas.  Green posted his first career double-double in the 66-53 victory over Penn State, pulling down 10 boards and scoring 18 points. In the 74-59 loss to No. 1 Illinois, Green scored a career high 20 points, as well as posting six boards and three blocked shots. Green capped off his efforts for the week by scoring seven points and grabbing five rebounds in a 58-40 victory over San Jose State.

The Hoyas (4-2) will be traveling to Hawaii for the Rainbow Classic where they will face Oral Roberts on December 20^th at 10 p.m.
