The Mullen Scholarship is an interesting story of generosity. Jack Donahue, B'58, is a Regent whose aunt passed away. Her influence on him spurred him to commemorate her legacy. Jack decided that since she had been a teacher and his own interest in athletics he would combine those interests into a lasting tribute. Jack established the scholarship in her name. Income from this scholarship permanently supports one or more student-athletes each year consistent with NCAA rules, throughout the student's participation in one of the following intercollegiate athletics programs: (Baseball, Men's Crew, Women's Crew, Field Hockey, Women's Lacrosse, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Men's Swimming, Women's Swimming, Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis, or Women's Track). Preference will be given to student-athletes one of whose parents or guardians is in the field of education. In addition, the student will be required to have financial aid need and strong academic credentials coming into Georgetown.
