This scholarship is a gift of the Rienzo Family in memory of Joan T. Rienzo, wife of Director of Athletics Eneritus Francis X. Rienzo and mother of Georgetown grads, Francis, '89, Matthew, '98, Cecilia, '93, and Teresa, '90. This scholarship has specific preferences listed below:(1) This gift is for a scholarship fund for socio-economically disadvantaged minority student-athletes from the inner cities of the United States who will concurrently participate in Intercollegiate Athletics (excluding Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Track and Field and Football) and are enrolled in the Georgetown College or Georgetown School of Nursing. (2) This Scholarship support is in addition to any scholarship aid earned based on need, and may include the buy-out of work-study, loan or summer earnings. The scholarships can be given to one athlete or broken up among two or more athletes.
