Former swimmer John, C'79, and Marybeth Wooters, N'75, of Mooristown, New Jersey, donated the Wooters Scholarship. A member of the Athletics Committee of the Board of Regents, John has helped support swimming throughout the years. John has helped athletics as a staff member, coach and volunteer. He was the swim coach in the mid 1970s and president of Hoyas Unlimited in the early 1990's. He has also served on the Board of Governors of the Alumni Association and the Admissions Committee.

The scholarship is intended for one or more recruited undergraduate students participating in the Intercollegiate Swimming program at Georgetown. The scholarship is need-based. These scholarships will be awarded in consultation with the Director of Athletics, Swim Coach, and Director of Financial Aid.
