Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's sailing wrapped up action at the 2007 Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women's National Championship on Friday, May 24 on the Elizabeth River in Norfolk, Va., placing 10th in the field of 18 schools. The three-day event ended prematurely due to uncooperative winds on the water, shortening the championship to only 16 races in each division. The Hoyas completed the championship with 302 points, while St. Mary's took home the title, opening up a commanding lead over College of Charleston over the final races on Friday. Junior Blaire Herron (Coronado, Calif./Coronado) and senior Emily Siguler (Conway, Mass./The Hotchkiss School) remained in ninth for the third straight day in the A division, finishing with 147 points. In the B division, sophomore Emily Babbitt (Dartmouth, Mass./Bishop Stang) and junior Jamie Loeks (Rye, N.Y./Rye) also did not move out of their first day position of 11th, completing the week with 155 points. Georgetown sailing finishes the season next week with the 2007 ICSA National Coed Dinghy Championship at the U.S. Naval Academy from May 30 to June 1.
