April 18, 2008

Box Score

Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University baseball team lost on Friday night at Cincinnati, 7-1. The Blue and Gray received a homerun from senior Matt Harrigan, his fourth of the season, to go ahead 1-0 in the second inning. However, the homerun was one of only four Hoya hits on the evening and provided the team's only run.

Harrigan had half the team's hits with two on the evening, while sophomore Dan Capeless picked up the others, including a two-out double in the seventh inning.

Sophomore Tim Adleman allowed four earned runs over 6 2/3 innings and striking out six Bearcat batters. Senior Grady McConnell and sophomore Jack Bender each allowed a single run during their relief appearances.

Cincinnati's Mike Spina went 3-for-4 with two homeruns and three runs batted in. On the mound, UC's Dan Osterbrock earned the win after throwing eight complete frames and allowing one run on four hits while striking out nine.

The two BIG EAST rivals will meet again tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
