Washington, D.C. - Georgetown relief pitcher Daniel Kennedy (West Orange, N.J./Regis) was named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for March 24-30. The senior right-hander earned consecutive saves for the Hoyas in their two come-from-behind wins over the weekend. His pitching helped secure a series win on the road over conference foe USF. In 2007, Kennedy appeared in 23 games, second most on the staff and was nominated to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Watch List. He also finished tied for the BIG EAST lead in saves and his 11 saves set a single-season school record. He also currently owns the Georgetown career saves record with 24 and accumulated a team-leading 2.33 ERA. The Hoyas take to the field again tomorrow in Baltimore, Md., when they take on the Coppin State Eagles at 3 p.m.
