Georgetown's Game with UMBC Cancelled Due to Unplayable Field Conditions

May 13, 2008

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown University baseball team's (16-31) scheduled game with UMBC on Tuesday evening has been cancelled due to unplayable field conditions at Baseball Factory Field on the campus of University of Maryland Baltimore County.

The game will not be made up.

The Hoyas will begin a three-game series with BIG EAST rival Seton Hall on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. from Shirley Povich Field. Saturday's 4 p.m. contest will also feature a fond farewell to the seven Georgetown seniors as they play in their final home contests.

The Pirates swept the Hoyas in their three-game series a season ago, ending GU's six-game win streak over the Hall.
