Washington, D.C. - Senior Greg Pustizzi (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep) and junior Tommy Lee (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) and have been named the captains of the 2009 Georgetown baseball team, head coach Pete Wilk announced today. The duo was selected after a vote held by their teammates earlier this week. "We're pleased to have Greg and Tommy as captains this year," Wilk said. "They represent everything I want this program and this team to stand for: integrity, hard work, accountability and excellence in the classroom." In his first year at Georgetown after transferring from Winthrop, Lee played in every game and started all but one, batting .283 for the season. The New York native tied for second on the team in runs scored and was second on the team in hits. Lee also led the Hoyas in stolen bases and sacrifices during the 2008 season. Pustizzi played in 33 games, starting 26 for the Blue & Gray and hit .400 with the bases loaded last year. He also tied a career-high with three runs batted in an 8-5 win at BIG EAST foe Cincinnati. Georgetown opens its season on February 20 at the inaugural BIG EAST/Big Ten Baseball Challenge against Northwestern in Tampa, Fla.
