Baseball Recruiting
Dear Prospective Student-Athlete,
The task of choosing a university or college that suits your needs can be a long and challenging process. You need to gather as much information as possible prior to making one of the most important decisions of your life.
I would like to introduce you to Georgetown University and our baseball program. Georgetown has an academic reputation that is known worldwide, with an undergraduate enrollment near 6,000. Georgetown offers academic programs in international studies, languages and linguistics, government, politics, and business. In addition, Georgetown's School of Foreign Service and Law Center are the largest in the United States and the Medical Center includes a 535-bed teaching hospital. The oldest Catholic institution of higher learning in the nation, Georgetown's beautiful 104-acre campus sits in the heart of the nation's capital overlooking the Potomac River. Washington, DC is a "college town" and academic and social life can be greatly enhanced by association with any of the neighboring institutions.
Georgetown Baseball is one of the oldest programs in the country dating back to 1869. We compete in the BIG EAST Conference (Division I) and play a rigorous out-of-conference schedule as well, a total of 56 games. Our field and facilities are among the best in the conference. The commitment to play here is a year-round one. We have a fall program that lasts roughly until Halloween, a conditioning program which runs until final exams begin, then we resume in mid-January after the holiday break. The summers are also spent playing all across the country. This summer, we had more than 10 players placed in NCAA sanctioned wood-bat leagues from California to Maine.
We are looking for strong student-athletes who are committed to excellence on the field and in the classroom. Georgetown has a great deal to offer with regards to academics and baseball. In order for us to contact you on a more personal level in the future, please submit your profile.
Best wishes for a great spring season.
Sincerely,
Pete Wilk
