About the Hoyas ... Head Coach John Thompson III mentored the Hoyas to a 19-13 record in his first year at the helm of the Hoyas, improving on the 13-15 finish of the previous season ... Georgetown advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2005 National Invitation Tournament ... This season, the team was picked to finish sixth in the BIG EAST ... In two years, Thompson has guided the Hoyas to a 30-17 record, including an 11-10 record in BIG EAST play ... Sophomore center Roy Hibbert leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.9 points per game ... He is second on the team in rebounding (5.6 rpg) and leads the squad with 29 blocked shots, which is ninth in the BIG EAST (1.93 per game) ... Hibbert rejected a career-high six shots at No. 10 Illinois on December 8... Hibbert also leads the team in field goal percentage, connecting on 59.1 percent of his shots from the field (65-of-110) ... Hibbert opened the season with back-to-back games of at least 20 points ... He recorded his second-straight double-double on December 21 when he scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Savannah State and his third in the Hoya BIG EAST opener vs Providence when he poured in 16 points and pulled down 10 boards ... Senior forward Brandon Bowman is second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.2 points per game, and is third on the team in rebounding, grabbing 5.3 boards per game ... He is shooting 47.2 percent from the field (60-of-127).... The senior led the Hoyas with a season-high 20 points in a loss at UConn ... He scored 19 points against Providence, a game where he also set his season mark in rebounding with 12 for his first double-double of the 05-06 campaign ... He scored 12 points and had four rebounds against Stetson, which moved him past the 600-rebound mark for his career, making him only the ninth player in program history to score at least 1,200 points and grab that many boards ... Senior guard Ashanti Cook, who scored a career-high 25 points in the win at Oregon on December 3, is third on the team in scoring with 9.9 points per game ... He is shooting 47.2 percent from the field (51-of-108) ... Sophomore forward Jeff Green, last year's co-BIG EAST Rookie of the Year, is fourth on the team in scoring, tallying 9.8 points per game ... Scouting Duke ... Duke enters today's game with a 17-0 overall record ... The Blue Devils are ranked No. 1 in the country by both the Associated Press and in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 poll ... Duke has two players averaging double figures in scoring, led by senior guard J.J. Redick, who tops the team with 26.4 points per game ... Redick has connected on 50.0 percent of his field goals and leads the squad with 59 three-pointers, shooting 42.4 percent from outside the arc ... He scored 28 points in the team's win over North Carolina State, his sixth-straight game with at least 20 points ... Senior center Shelden Williams is second on the team in scoring wtih 18.2 points per game and leads the team with 9.4 rebounds per game ... He has blocked a team-high 59 shots, a 4.2 per game average ... Senior guard Sean Dockery is third on the team in scoring with 8.6 points per game, is third in rebounding with 4.1 boards and is second on the team with 3.6 assists ... Hoyas Incoming ... Georgetown Head Coach John Thompson III announced that three student-athletes had signed Letters-of-Intent to attend the University in 2005-06 ... Joining the Hoyas will be DaJuan Summers (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh), Vernon Macklin (Hargrave Military Academy) and Jeremiah Rivers (Winter Park, Fla.) ... Summers, a 6-8 power forward, averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds as a junior and was named the Baltimore City Player of the Year ... Macklin, a 6-9 forward, averaged 24.2 points, 14.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocked shots at I.C. Norcom High School in Portsmouth, Va. ... Rivers, a 6-4 guard, is the son of Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers ... Rivers averaged 15 points, six assists and five rebounds as a junior, and participated in USA Basketball's Youth Development Festival as well as the NBA Players' Association Top 100 camp.

Fifty Marks the Spot ... Georgetown only scored 50 points in its game against South Florida on January 17, but it was enough to secure a three-point win (50-47) against the Bulls ... It was the first time this season a Hoya team had scored 50 points or fewer and won ... The last time that happened was in a 46-41 win over Villanova during the 2003 BIG EAST Tournament.

40-Something ... In Georgetown's win over South Florida on January 17, the Hoyas limited the Bulls to 47 points, the fourth time this season GU had held an opponent to less than 50 points ... The 2002-03 Hoya squad held four opponents to less than 50 ... The last time a Georgetown team held more than four opponents to under 50 points was in the 1993-94 season, when the team did it five times.

Double the Pleasure ... Senior forward Brandon Bowman and sophomore center Roy Hibbert led the Hoyas to a 72-62 win in the BIG EAST Conference opener against Providence on January 5 ... Bowman scored a game-high 19 points and added 12 rebounds, while Hibbert added 16 points and 10 boards ... It was the first time two Georgetown players had double-double's in the same game since Bowman (11 points, 11 rebounds) and sophomore forward Jeff Green (16 points, 10 rebounds) did so against Rutgers last season.

Triple the Pleasure ... Georgetown ranks seventh in the BIG EAST in three-point field goals made per game, averaging 7.33 each contest ... Through five conference games, they are sixth, connecting on 7.6 per game ... Three Hoyas - Jonathan Wallace, Ashanti Cook and Darrel Owens - have hit at least 20 apiece ... Combined that trio is shooting 45.2 percent from beyond the arc (76-of-168).

That `70s Show ... In nine of Georgetown's 11 wins this season, the Hoyas have scored between 70 and 79 points ... The team is averaging 70.7 points per game in its wins ... In those games, they have connected on better than 50 percent of their field goals ... In wins, they are also shooting 39.7 percent from three-point land (85-of-214), 71.6 percent from the free throw line (159-of-222), grabbing 32.5 rebounds per game and handing out 15.5 assists per game.
