Brandon Bowman withdraws name from NBA Draft

June 14, 2005

Washington DC - Brandon Bowman has withdrawn his name from the NBA Draft. Because he did not hire an agent, Brandon did not compromise his eligibility and will return to play for the Hoyas this season.

A Third Team All BIG EAST selection, Brandon was last season's leading scorer (15.2 points per game) and second leading rebounder (6.0 boards per game) while leading the team in steals and averaging 33.4 minutes per game.

In other news, Darrel Owens, who graduated in 2005, will return to complete his athletic eligibility next season. Darrel, initially a partial qualifier, sat out his freshman season, but because he earned his degree in four years is eligible to play while pursuing another degree from Georgetown.

Darrel played in every contest and averaged more than 24 minutes per outing. He started in 15 games and averaged 6.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
