June 20, 2006 Washington, D.C. - Season tickets for the 2006-07 Georgetown University Hoyas Men's Basketball season are now on sale. Last year, the Hoyas were one of the hottest tickets in town as the team won 23 games, advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament and were ranked among the top-20 teams in the country. In his second year at the helm, Head Coach John Thompson III led Georgetown to one of its most successful campaigns in recent memory. The season was highlighted with key wins over then undefeated and No.1-ranked Duke, No. 9 Pittsburgh and long-time rival Syracuse on Senior Day. The Hoyas reached the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament and toppled Big Ten Champion Ohio State on the way to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. GU was ranked among the top-25 teams in the country for the final eight weeks of the season. The 2006-07 season is sure to be just as exciting.
