Alfred Bozzo Alfred Bozzo - President

Alfred Bozzo is a 1985 graduate of the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. Alfred is a second generation Hoya who has remained active in the university community. He has been involved in the business school mentoring program, has provided internships to current students and has hosted numerous financial seminars on campus for both alumni and students.

Alfred joined the Hoya Hoop Club in 1994 and became a board member in 2001. As a board member, he has been on the finance committee and chaired the membership committee. From 2003 to 2005, he was the Hoya Hoop Club Secretary.

Alfred is a First Vice President - Investments at Smith Barney's in Washington, DC. He has been employed at Smith Barney since 1985. He currently resides in Arlington, Virginia and can be seen watching Hoya games with his wife, Terry and 3 children, Rico, Francesca and Bianca.

Rich McHugh (C'77, L'80), a Wilmington , Delaware native, has served on the Hoya Hoop Club Board of Directors since 1999, and is in his first year as Vice President for Player Relations. Rich first arrived on the Georgetown campus during the second year of the coaching tenure of John Thompson Jr., and has closely witnessed the evolution of the basketball program since those cozy days in McDonough.

Rich is a 1977 graduate of the Georgetown College (A.B. Economics) and is a 1980 graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center. Rich also is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu (the Jesuit Honor Society).

When not watching basketball, Rich is a partner in the Washington law firm of Dow Lohnes PLLC, where he specializes in employee benefit, executive compensation and health care tax law issues. Rich and his wife, Sallie, live in Arlington, Virginia. Rich is proud to note that their two children, Maggie, 23, and Emily, 20, also are avid Georgetown basketball fans even though they both have gone away from Washington to attend college.

Tom Wong (C'82), a native Washingtonian, has served on the Hoya Hoop Club Board of Directors since July 2003, and is in his first year as Assistant Vice President. A season ticket holder since his student days, Tom has attended every BIG EAST Tournament at Madison Square Garden since 1985.

Dr. Wong has worked at Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States since December 1993 serving as the Area Optometry Supervisor for Kaiser Permanente's 14 medical centers that provide Vision Services. Dr. Wong received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York, State College of Optometry in 1989 while residing in New York City from 1985-1990. He graduated from the Georgetown Preparatory in 1978 and Georgetown University in 1982 with a B.S. in Biology. Formerly President of the Optometric Society of Washington, D.C., Tom has been a Vice President of the Maryland Optometric Association since 2001. Last year, Tom was named Maryland's Optometrist of the Year, as well as the Alumnus of the Year for the SUNY College of Optometry.

Chris Lucey Chris Lucey - Secretary

Chris Lucey (B'01) is a native Washingtonian who has been an avid Georgetown basketball fan since he was old enough to remember. Chris' dad, Dennis, has been a Hoop Club member since 1983, and Chris became a member following his graduation in 2001.

Chris joined the Hoya Hoop Club Board of Directors in 2004 and quickly got involved, having been elected the Secretary this year. At MCI Center, you can find Chris, sporting his Hoya gear, cheering on Georgetown from the Young Alumni section.

Chris works with Cassidy Pinkard, a commercial real estate firm, based in Tyson's Corner, VA.

Joe Guarriello - Vice President for Membership

Joe Guarriello (B'71, L'74) has served on the Hoya Hoop Club Board of Directors from 1982 until 1987, before rejoining the Joe GuarrielloBoard in 1999. Joe has been Treasurer of the Hoop Club since 2001, having previously served as the Hoya Hoop Club President from 1984 to 1986. Joe was awarded the Fernicola Award in 2002 for his support of the Georgetown basketball program. A men's basketball season ticket holder since his freshman year in 1967, look for Joe, wearing his Hoya Hoop Club polo shirt, rooting on the Hoyas from section 112.

A newly elected member of the Board of Governors, Joe received a William Gaston Award from the GU Alumni Association in 2005. After graduating from the Law School, Joe worked at Arthur Andersen & Co. until 1985 having attained the position of Tax Principal. From 1987 to 1998, Joe worked at Mid Atlantic Medical Services, Inc. during which his positions included, Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Financial Officer. He has served on the board of directors of a variety of for profit and not for profit organizations, including Georgetown's Board of Visitors of the School of Nursing and Health Studies (1997-2000), and the Steering Committee of the Medical Center Third Century Campaign. Joe is currently a self-employed business consultant.

Neil Sumilas - Treasurer

Neil Sumilas (SFS 1996) has been a Hoya Hoop Club member since 2001, and has served on the Club's Board of Directors since 2004. Neil is currently a program coordinator in the Washington office of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), a non-partisan American public policy and grantmaking institution dedicated to promoting greater cooperation and understanding between the United States and Europe. He has been with GMF in various capacities since 1998. Prior to that, he worked for the Bonner Group, a political and non-profit fundraising consultancy. Neil is an avid scuba diver and golfer, and serves as a volunteer coach for the Northern Virginia Hockey Club.
