Georgetown Heavyweights Defeat Holy Cross

Washington, D.C. - The 14th-ranked Georgetown Heavyweights hosted, and defeated, boats from Holy Cross this past weekend on the Potomac River. The Hoya varsity eight, second varsity eight, and freshman/novice eight all carried strong performances in their events.

The men's varsity eight, made up of CJ Mathieu, Spencer Almy, Chuck Hartwig, Andrew Ciriello, Luke O'Donnell, Ben Coyne, Taylor Frank, Paul Keith and Jack Carlson, finished with a time of 5:51.2 in their respected race as Holy Cross recorded a time of 5:57.2. The men's second varsity eight team made up of Max Mickiewicz, Sam Bourneuf, Bob Morgan, Bryan Chismar, Max O'Neill, Michael Stack, Joe McElwee, Joe Ledvina and Rod Solaimani placed first in their heat with a time of 6:00.5, ahead of the HC second varsity eight who posted a time of 6:02.3.

The Hoyas will return to action on Saturday, April 26 when they row against George Washington University on the Potomac River.
