Washington, D.C. - Georgetown men's crew participated in the 61st Eastern Sprints Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. on Sunday. The Hoyas qualified for the grand final in one event and the petite final in four others. Georgetown's best finish in the petite finals was a second place showing in the second varsity lightweight eight. They crossed in 6:30.957, just over four seconds behind Rutgers. The Hoyas were fourth in the three other petite finals. In the varsity eight, less than five seconds separated the top-five finishers with Syracuse winning at 6:20.682 and Georgetown placing fourth at 6:24.628. GU was also fourth in the varsity lightweight eight (6:49.096) and the freshman heavyweight eight (6:37.421). In the freshman lightweight varsity eight, Georgetown qualified for the grand final, crossing sixth with a time of 6:38.983.
