Crew Places Third at GW Invitational

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Georgetown crew finished third in the final team standings at the 17th Annual George Washington Invitational Crew Classic on the Potomac River on April 10.  

The U.S. Naval Academy captured the Gilbert H. Hood, Jr. Point Trophy for the third straight year.

The Midshipmen crews took four first-place finishes, one second-place finish and a pair of thirds to amass 65 points, 20 more than second-place Saint Joseph's. Georgetown earned 36 points to place third in the team point standings.

Conditions were near-ideal with temperatures were in the 50's during a the morning and the low 60's in the afternoon, with a slight tailwind and a moderate tail current.
