Fordham Edges Georgetown 38-31

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Jonte Coven rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown, Xavier Martin added 119 yards and another score, and Fordham held off a late Georgetown charge to come out with a 38-31 win Saturday.

Fordham (5-2, 3-0 Patriot League) took a 38-10 lead with 12:13 left in the third quarter on Martin's 25-yard run. The Hoyas (0-7, 0-3) then scored 21 unanswered points as Matt Bassuener ran 16 yards for a touchdown and threw scoring passes of 33 and 26 yards.

The comeback bid ended when Fordham's defense stuffed a fourth-and-1 play at the Rams 42 with 3:29 left.

Fordham's John Skelton threw for two first-half touchdowns and three different players rushed for scores as the Rams built a 31-0 halftime lead. ^
