Georgetown Football Offensive Coordinator Jim Miceli Receives Ramapo College Hall of Fame Induction

March 5, 2008

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown University football team's offensive coordinator/quaterbacks coach Jim Miceli will be inducted into the Ramapo College of New Jersey Athletic Hall of Fame during a ceremony held on Saturday, April 26 at Bradley Center in Mahwah, N.J.

"Anytime anyone thinks enough of you to put you in their hall of fame it's an honor," Miceli said. "My time at Ramapo was probably one of the more fun-times in my coaching career. We were able to take a program that had lost 29 straight games and turn it around quickly."

Miceli, who finished his second season on the Hilltop, inherited a Ramapo College team mired in a 1-29-1 losing streak prior to the 1988 football season. Over the next four years, Miceli led the Division III program to a 33-9 record, holding a national ranking in three of his four years and capturing the ECAC South Championship in 1990.

During his tenure, Miceli guided three players to All-America status, while seven earned all-ECAC honors and 18 received first-team all-conference recognition. Miceli was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) coach of the year in 1989.

This year's class of seven, including Miceli, will join 66 existing members in a Ramapo College Athletic Hall of Fame that was established in 1990.

Miceli and Georgetown University's football team will begin spring practice on Wednesday, March 12 in preparation for the 2008 Patriot League season.
