Buzbee Hauls in Patriot League Football Rookie of the Week Honors

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Georgetown University freshman defensive end Alex Buzbee (Chester, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) was named the Patriot League’s Rookie of the Week for his efforts this past weekend against Towson.

Buzbee helped hold the Tigers to only 14 offensive points and 313 total yards. He totaled four tackles on the day including two sacks. His first sack came on a third and four play as he hit the Towson quarterback for a three-yard loss. The second sack came with GU trailing 7-6 early in the third on a third and 10. Buzbee hit Towson’s quarterback and forced a fumble which Towson recovered forcing fourth down. Buzbee is second on the Hoyas in total sacks with five and has 23 tackles this season.

The Hoyas close the 2003 home season this Saturday, November 15th, against Davidson with a 12:30 p.m. kickoff.
