Akron, OH - Georgetown's men's golf team traveled to Akron, OH this past weekend, April 16th and 17th, to take part in the First Energy Intercollegiate at Firestone Golf Club. The Hoyas shot a combined 914 and finished in 10th place. The University of Toledo won the tournament by five strokes, with a combined 868, over Ball State University's 873. Penn State finished in third place with a combined 885.

Tim Moynihan (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) paced all Hoyas with a three round 223 (77-70-76) and finished tied for 10th place. Junior David Erickson (Edina, MN/The Blake School) carded a three round 230 (80-73-77) and tied for 40th place in the tournament. Matt Myers (St. Joseph, MO/Central High School) finished one stroke behind Erickson with a combined 231 (73-82-76) for 43rd place. David Praet (Oakland Township, Mich./Notre Dame Prep) finished in sole possession of 60th place with a 238 (77-77-84) and Bob Molina (Stokie, IL/Loyola Academy) closed out the quintet with a combined 251 (93-81-77) to tie for 75th place.

Georgetown's next event will be the BIG EAST Championship on April 22-24, at the University of Notre Dame at the Warren Golf Course.
