GREENVILLE, N.C.— In the first spring golf match of the season, the Georgetown University golf team finished in 16th place at the Ironwood Intercollegiate. The tournament was played at the Bradford Creek Golf Club in Greenville, North Carolina and was hosted by East Carolina University. Junior Cody Courbier (Coconut Grove, Fla./Ransom Everglades) led the team with a score of 230, while junior Tristan Lewis (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) followed closely behind with 232 strokes. As a team, the Hoyas shot a 947, with 322 strokes in the first round, 309 in the second, and 316 in the third. Freshman Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) shot a 238 finishing in 64th place overall. Senior Dan Giraudo (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius) added 247 strokes to Georgetown’s total, while junior Andreas Huber (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) ended the match with score of 257. The Hoyas next match will take place Monday, March 26, at the William & Mary Invitational at the Golden Horsehoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virginia.
