Williamsburg, Va. (March 27, 2001) -- The Georgetown University men's golf team finished seventh in the two-day Colonial Intercollegiate Tournament, hosted by the College of William and Mary. The event was played at the par 72 Golden Horseshoe Green. There were 18 teams that competed in the tournament. The University of Richmond finished first in the tournament with a score of 592. Georgetowns score of 525 was 33 shots off the lead. Two Hoyas finished in the Top 20 individually, as junior Tristan Lewis (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) and freshman Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) finished in 11th and 18th place, respectively. Lewis shot 77 on the first day of the tournament and came back the next day to shoot 75. He finished the event tied for with an eight over par score of 152, 10 strokes behind the leader. Cook finished two strokes behind Lewis with a 154. He fired a 78 on the first day and 76 in the final round. Three other Hoyas competed in the event. Senior Daniel Giraudo (San Francisco, Calif./Saint Ignatius College Prep) shot 159 for the tournament after rounds of 81 and 78, leaving him tied for 36th place. Juniors Cody Courbier (Coconut Grove, Fla./Ransom Everglades) and Andreas Huber finished in a tie for 58th place. Both Hoyas finished with a two-day total of 164. The Hoyas return to action the weekend of April 7 at the Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, Md.
