Men’s Golf Places Second at Gettysburg Spring Invitational

The Georgetown men’s golf team competed in the Gettysburg Spring Invitational this past Thursday, April 4, 2002. The Hoyas played a great tournament and finished in second place. The event was played at Gettysburg Country Club. The team’s final score was 312, just one off of first place. Sophomore James Farrah (Potomac, Md./Georgetown Prep) led the team with a score of 75 and shared the second place rank with three other participants.

Sophomore Brain Lafferty (Winnetka, Ill/Loyola Academy) finished in sixth place and shot a 76. Freshman Bob Molina (Skokie, Ill./Loyola) shot an 80 for a 15th place finish while Matt Hoseley (Lake Forest, Ill./Loyola), another freshman, placed 19th with a score of 81. Sophomore Peter Rivas (New Orleans, La./Jesuit) shot an 87 for a 43rd finish in the tournament.

The Hoyas will next compete in the Navy Spring Invitational on the weekend of April 6-7. The match will be held at the Navy Golf Club in Annapolis, Maryland.
