Georgetown Golf Finished Second at the Princeton Invitational
Princeton, N.J.-- The Georgetown University golf team continued its strong spring by finishing second at the Princeton Invitational held at the Springdale Golf Club. The Hoyas finished with a two-day total of 585, just seven shots behind Penn State. GU won the tie-breaker with Princeton, who also shot 585, to take second place. Junior Tristan Lewis (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) and senior Dan Giraudo (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius) each had outstanding rounds for the Hoyas. Both golfers tied for ninth place overall with scores of 145. Giraudo tied Temple's Chris Bartolacci with a 68 in the first round. Lewis opened with a 75, but fired a one-under par 70 during the second day of competition. Freshman Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) carded a 148, with two rounds of 47. He tied for 23rd place overall. Junior Cody Courbier (Coconut Grove, Fla./Ransom Everglades) shot a 149, tying him for 31st place, while fellow junior Andreas Huber (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) carded a 150. The Hoyas are off until April 27, when they compete in the BIG EAST Championships. This year's championship will be held at Metacomet Country Club in East Providence, R.I.
