4/29/2002 Georgetown men’s golf played its final round of the season this weekend in University Park, Penn, the site of the 26th Rutherford Intercollegiate. The tournament, hosted annually by Penn State, boasted a field of 15 teams this year. Georgetown took a ninth place finish with an overall score of 896. Penn State managed to take top honors at their own tournament. Georgetown sophomore and member of the 2002 All BIG EAST men’s golf team Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) finished in seventh place, 10 strokes over first place Jeff Turton, who posted a three-round total of 206. Sophomores James Farrah (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) and Peter Rivas (New Orleans, La./Jesuit) both put up a tournament total of 230 strokes, tying them for 46th place in the individual standings. Also contributing to the scoring cause for Georgetown were freshmen Bob Molina (Skokie, Ill./Loyola) and Matt Hoseley (Lake Forest, Ill./Loyola), who finished with 233 and 234 strokes, respectively.
