Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University golfer Garrett Logan (Henderson, Nev./Bishop Gorman) claimed the 56th Annual Twin Hills Invitational on Sunday in Joplin, Mo. The rising senior finished the tournament with a 3-over-par in the final round and finished the three day event with a total score of 4-under-par, 212. Logan was the leader going into the final round and managed to hang on despite a final round of 75. The key moment in the final round for Logan came on the 16th green. With the defending champion of the tournament making a surge in the group in front of him, the Nevada native drained a 30-foot birdie putt. He held off the field for the final two holes to claim his first amateur tournament victory by one stroke. Logan finished the 2007-2008 season at Georgetown University with a 77.66 stroke average, fourth on the team. Earlier this month Logan earned academic honors by being named a Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar. The tournament, which hosted a field of 170, was held in Joplin, Missouri and is one of the larger amateur golf events in the quad-state-area (Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas. Logan shot 70-67-75 to win the event.
