Huber and Courbier lead team with +3 performances

Leesburg, Va. (Sept. 20, 1999) -- Results from 16th annual Hoya Invitational

Two Georgetown players tied for 11th place with 3 over par performances in the 16th annual Hoya Invitational. Andreas Huber (So. Garden City, NY/Garden City) and Cody Courbier (So. Coconut Grove, Fl./Ransom Everglades) each shot 147 at the Lansdowne resort, leading Georgetown to an eighth place tie. The tournament format was two rounds of 18 holes on the par 72 course (7057 yards).

The finish order for the tournament was:
1) Pennsylvania                         291 + 283 = 574 (-2)
2) Navy                                 296 + 289 = 585 (+9)
3) Temple                               295 + 293 = 588 (+12)
4) Seton Hall                           304 + 289 = 593 (+17)
Eastern Michigan                        291 + 302 = 593 (+17)
6) San Francisco                        298 + 297 = 595 (+19)
   James Madison                        290 + 305 = 595 (+19)
8) Georgetown University                294 + 306 = 600 (+24)
   Princeton                            305 + 295 = 600 (+24)
10) Villanova                           299 + 304 = 603 (+27)
11) Georgetown (Gray Team)              307 + 306 = 613 (+37)
12) Lehigh                              315 + 306 = 621 (+45)
13) William & Mary                      307 + 315 = 622 (+46)
14) George Mason                        306 + 321 = 627 (+51)

Eugene Smith of Seton Hall and Kyle Moran of Pennsylvania led the field, shooting two under par 142's, with Eugene winning the playoff for 1st place. Nat Hoopos of Princeton won the 6th Man Tournament with an eight over par 152.
