WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 7) - The Georgetown University golf team had its best finish of the young season with a sixth-place tie at the Temple Owl Invitational Oct. 7. The tournament was played at the Glenmaura National Golf Club. Junior Cody Courbier (Coconut Grove, Fla./Ransom Everglades) fired a 150 to lead Georgetown. He had a 72 in the first round, which tied him for third place after day one. He finished tied for sixth overall with six other golfers. St. John's University won the tournament with a score of 596. They were six shots better than runner up Central Connecticut State. As a team, Georgetown shot a 612 overall. The Hoyas shot 298 in the first round and 314 on Saturday. Freshman James Farrah (Potomac, Md./Georgetown Prep) and junior Tristan Lewis (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) each had a 154 in the tournament, tying them for 21st overall. Freshman Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) added a 157 for the Hoyas, while senior Dan Giraudo (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius) carded a 161. The Hoyas are off until October 21, when they play in the Delaware Blue Hen Invitational. The two-day tournament will take place at Bulle Rock Golf Club in Havre de Grace, Md. Final Team Results
