Round 2 Combo Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University men's golf team will close out the fall season on Monday and Tuesday, October 22-23, by hosting the Georgetown Intercollegiate at The Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md. The 54-hole tournament tees off at 8 a.m. on Monday with two rounds scheduled to be played. The 23rd Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate features a 12-team field, including the host Hoyas, DePaul, Detroit Mercy, George Mason, the University of Idaho, James Madison, Richmond, St. John's, St. Joseph's, Towson, Villanova and the College of William & Mary. Four Streams is a member-owned Club. The 7,100 yard championship course is designed by world renowned player Nick Price and architect Steve Smyers. Mr. Smyers is known for his designs reflecting the Old World traditions of golf. The Members Club at Four Steams is the first signature design in the United States from the renowned Price/Smyers Golf Course Design Group. The course is inspired by some of the world's best courses and holes. Mr. Price combines his playing talents with the architectural expertise of Steve Smyers, architect of Chart Hills (England) recently named the number one inland course in the British Isles, Old Memorial and Southern Dunes (Florida) and Wolf Run (Indiana). The greens, tees and fairways feature a new type bentgrass that will ensure superb playing conditions year round. The course is set on rolling land with visual drama from many vantage points.
Georgetown is coming off a seventh place finish in the Big 5 Classic last weekend in Philadelphia. In four tournaments this year, the Hoyas have posted two top-10 finishes. |
