WASHINGTON, D.C. The Georgetown University golf team had its best finish of the season with a fourth-place tie at the Delaware Blue Hen Invite. The tournament was played at the Bulle Rock Golf Club in Havre DeGrace, Md. Junior Tristan Lewis (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) and senior Dan Giraudo (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius) each fired a 112 for 27 holes to lead the team. They finished in a tie for second overall with one other golfer. As a team, Georgetown shot a 465, just two strokes behind Marlyand-Baltimore County, who won the event. The Hoyas had a 311 after the first round and had a match-best 154 over the final nine holes on Sunday.
Freshman Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) added a 120 for the Hoyas, which placed him in a tie for 20th overall. Junior Cody Courbier (Coconut Grove, Fla./Ransom Everglades) shot a 121, while freshman James Farrah (Potomac, Md./Fairfield Prep) finished with a 124. The Hoyas are off until October 29, when they host the Georgetown Hoya Invitational. The two-day tournament will take place at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Va.
