Washington, D.C. - Backed by an impressive offensive showing, the Georgetown University men's soccer team scored two goals apiece in each half as the Hoyas blanked George Mason, 4-0, in front of a spirited crowd of nearly 500 fans at North Kehoe Field Sunday evening.

Sophomore midfielder Seth C'deBaca (Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia Prep) scored two goals and junior midfielder Scott Larrabee (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./Loyola) added a goal and two assists to lead the scoring.

After a back-and-forth opening 10 minutes of play, the Hoyas broke through in the 15th minute. Larrabee sent a cross from the near side to the box, where senior forward Peter Grasso (Burr Ridge, Ill./Hinsdale Central) took it off his chest and deflected to sophomore forward Jose Colchao (Fairfax, Va./Lake Braddock Secondary) one-timed it past Patriots keeper Sean Kelley, giving GU a 1-0 lead.

Just over 12 minutes later, freshman Uche Onyeador (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls), who set the Virginia state scoring record as a scholastic, set up C'deBaca for the first of his two goals. Breaking down the far side, Onyeador spotted C'deBaca streaking toward the box. C'deBaca took Onyeador's cross off his left foot and struck a shot past Kelley, giving the Hoyas a 2-0 lead.

The score remained that way until midway through the second half, when Larrabee sent a cross in from the far side to C'deBaca, who was able to put his left foot on the ball as he battled a GMU defender and put it past Kelley on the near post, giving the Hoyas a 3-0 lead at 64:26.

Larrabee tallied the final goal of the game in the 83rd minute.

Georgetown took 14 shots, including seven on goal and had two corner kicks.

The Hoyas back line - led by sophomore Alex Verdi (Ivyland, Pa./Germantown Academy), junior Mark Zeman (Western Springs, Ill./Lyons Township), junior Len Coleman (Basking Ridge, N.J./Pingry School) and sophomore Mostafa Ebrahimnejad (Columbia, Md./Hammond) - limited George Mason to only five shots, including two on goal. The Patriots had only one shot in the first half.

Redshirt freshman Mark Wilber (Tijeras, N.M./Albuquerque Academy) started in goal for Georgetown, while sophomore Matthew Brutto (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) played the second half and made two saves.

Georgetown opens the regular season on Friday, August 29, playing at the Cal State-Northridge Tournament. The Hoyas play the host school on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. (ET). The tournament concludes on Sunday, August 31 at 3 p.m. ET against Cal State-Fullerton.
