Georgetown Men’s and Women’s Swimming Finish Fifth in 2002-03 Opener

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In the first meet of the 2002-03 season the Georgetown men’s and women’s swimming teams both finished fifth overall at the Potomac Relay Invitational held at American University this past weekend.  The team meet featured eighteen events over the course of Friday evening. 

The best finish for the Georgetown men was in the 500 Freestyle where the Hoyas’ A team placed second with a time of 4:22.39.  The women fared well in the 1000 Freestyle with a third place finish for the Hoyas’ A team, less than four seconds behind the winning time.

The Georgetown swimming and diving team travels to Baltimore to compete against Loyola College on Saturday October 26 at 1:00 p.m.
