Rich Bausch is in his 26th year with the Hoya tennis program, coaching both the men's and women's programs for his entire tenure. In his career at Georgetown, the program has produced one men's BIG EAST Conference Team Champion (1989-90), eight BIG EAST Individual Tournament Champions, and thirty Academic All Americans since 1987.

In addition to Bausch's success on the court, he was the President of the BIG EAST Tennis Coaches Association from 1987-95. He was also the recipient of the 1990 HOYAS Unlimited Coaching Achievement Award.

The 1999-00 women's team rode a 10-match win streak during the month of April to complete the season with a 14-13 overall record. The lady Hoyas entered the 2000 BIG EAST Championships as the #6 seed and beat Villanova in first round before falling to Rutgers.

At the 2000 BIG EAST Championships Bausch coached the men's team to an upset victory over the #7 seeded Villanova Wildcats. The Hoya men entered the Championships as the 10th seed and came away from Miami, Fla. in eighth-place.

Bausch was a varsity tennis player for four years at Catholic University, and he received a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Catholic in 1979. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in liberal studies from Georgetown.

Bausch's ability to coach tennis is not limited to players on the team as he is the director of Racquet Sports and head tennis professional at Yates Field House. He also annually organizes a year-round program for 10,000 community members and has been the Pro Shop manager since 1980.

Aside from tennis, Rich enjoys running, music, home improvement, and reading.
