WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown men's tennis team will play its first BIG EAST home match when St. John's travels to McDonough Tennis Complex for Saturday's noon match. For the Hoyas, it will be the second match in three days, after defeating Howard University, 6-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Hoyas snapped a 10-match losing streak, with the win against Howard. Senior Jeffrey Schnell (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn), and juniors Kevin Walsh (Bernardsville, N.J./Delbarton) and Kenneth Wong (Repulse Bay, Hong Kong/St. Paul's [N.H.]) earned victories in singles and doubles play against the Bison. The Red Storm are 3-5, having dropped its last five matches. In its only common opponent with the blue and gray, St. John's defeated Yale, 5-2 on February 8. The Hoyas fell to Yale, 5-2 on February 23. GU's match with St. John's will be its third BIG EAST match of the season, having dropped the first two at DePaul (6-1) and at Marquette (6-1). After St. John's the Hoyas have two BIG EAST matches remaining against Boston College on March 16 and against Villanova on April 4. Both of those matches are scheduled to be played at McDonough Tennis Complex.
