Washington, D.C. - Eight student-athletes on the Georgetown University track & field team traveled to Des Moines, Iowa for the NCAA Track & Field Championships. Four men and four women don the blue and gray to represent the Hoyas as the outdoor season winds down.

Senior Joanna Rodgers (Fairfax, Va./J.W. Robinson/NC State) was the first to compete at Drake Stadium as she ran in the 3000m steeplechase on Wednesday. Her time of 10:54.36 placed her 14th in the second heat. Her time was not enough to get her to the final found on Friday.

Also competing at NCAAs are graduate student Elizabeth Maloy (Loudonville, N.Y./Academy of Holy Names), junior Maggie Infeld (University Heights, Ohio/Beaumont) and senior Melissa Grelli (Cupertino, Calif./Presentation). Maloy and Infeld will compete in the women's 1500m while Grelli will run the women's 10,000m.

On the men's side, junior Andrew Bumbalough (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood Academy) and senior Matt Debole will run the 1500m. Senior Daniel Nunn (San Luis Obispo, Calif./San Luis Obispo) and junior Mike Krisch (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins) will both compete in the men's 10,000m.

Prior to the NCAA Championships, the Georgetown track & field team enjoyed a number of honors. Six student-athletes were named to the USTFCCCA (United States Track & Field / Cross Country Coaches Association) All-East Region team. Four women - Grelli for her efforts in the 10,000m run, senior Ashley Hubbard (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield) in the 800m, and Maloy and Infeld in the 1500m. For the men, Bumbalough and DeBole made it in the 1500m.

DeBole and Maloy also enjoyed honors off the track as both were named to the CoSIDA All-Academic District 2 First Team. DeBole finished up his career at Georgetown with a degree in psychology while Maloy's graduate work is in liberal studies.
