Cory McNeill begins his second season with the Hoya program after spending five years at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Md.

McNeill concentrates on the development of the offense and defense, player development, recruiting, team and individual scouting reports as well as preseason and postseason conditioning.

McNeill worked under two-time MEAC Coach of the Year Derek Brown helping the Eagles to two- straight MEAC Championships, three consecutive regular season championships, two straight NCAA appearances and an NIT appearance. The CSU women's program became the first historically black college or university (HBCU) to earn a win in the post-season, a 67-52 WNIT victory over St. Joseph's in 2007. Also, McNeill helped Coppin State post the nation's second longest winning streak in 2006-07. In addition, Coppin State compiled a 49-0 MEAC regular season record against conference opponents.

A native of Baltimore, McNeill graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School and went on to attend Morgan State University, where he also played basketball for the Bears.

During his four-year career at Morgan State, McNeill averaged 10 points, two rebounds and three assist per game. McNeill received his bachelor of science degree in finance from Morgan State in 2002. He earned his Master's degree in public administration in 2005 from the University of Baltimore.

On the floor for the Hoyas, McNeill is primarily responsible for the development of the guards and post players. He is extremely instrumental in the Hoyas' defensive scheme. Last season, GU finished fifth in the BIG EAST in overall defense.

McNeill also plays a large role in recruiting and was a key player in the recruitment of this year's freshmen. The seven newcomers were ranked in the top ten in the nation for recruiting classes by a number of online media sources.
