Feb. 24, 2006 Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's basketball team (10-15, 3-11 BE) travels to Villanova (16-9, 7-7) for the Hoyas' final road game of the season on Saturday, Feb. 25. The BIG EAST contest will tip-off at the Pavilion at 2 p.m. Georgetown is coming off a 63-47 loss to Cincinnati on Tuesday night. The Series... Villanova leads the all-time series over Georgetown, 29-15. The teams, who are both original members of the BIG EAST Conference, have split the last four meetings. The Hoyas have lost four straight road games to the Wildcats and nine of the last ten as the visitors. Quick Notes... --- Sophomore point guard Kristin Heidloff (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick) leads the BIG EAST and ranks 13th in the nation in assist to turnover ratio (+2.3) and ranks third in the BIG EAST with 4.7 assists per game. Heidloff has scored in double-figures in seven of the last ten games. The Chicago, Ill. native notched her first career double-double with 13 points and career-high 11 assists in the win over American. Heidloff's 11 assists is the third best output by a BIG EAST player this season. The last time a Hoya dished out double-figure dimes was Nov. 11, 2004 when Mary Lisicky did it in a win over Delaware. Heidloff has already led the team in assists on 15 occasions this year after accomplishing the feat ten times all of last season. Heidloff ranks third on the team averaging 10.0 points in the last eight games, Heidloff has handed out 40 assists vs only 12 turnovers (5:1). --- Georgetown has trailed at halftime in all eleven of their BIG EAST losses. In all three of their BIG EAST victories, the Hoyas have held a lead at intermission. --- GU is 9-0 this season when leading at halftime. --- The Hoyas have made 80% of their free throws in the last five minutes of games (96-120). As a team, Georgetown ranks fourth in the BIG EAST, shooting 70.9 percent from the stripe. --- The Hoyas have made at least ten free throws in 12 of the last 16 games. In the last 16 games, Georgetown has knocked down 236-313 from the stripe (75%) while their opponents have attempted just 215. --- Sophomore forward Kieraah Marlow (Coatesville, Pa. Coatesville) has tallied 20 or more points in seven of the last 16 games. Marlow ranks sixth in the BIG EAST with eight 20-point games this season. She notched three straight 20+ point efforts from December 28-January 4, the longest such stretch of her career. Marlow, who was named to the All-BIG EAST Rookie Team a year ago, ranks sixth in the BIG EAST with 16.3 points per game and while ranking ninth in the league, shooting 44.7 percent from the floor. Marlow has recorded five double-doubles in the last eight games and scored in double figures 40 times in her young career. --- Senior Bethany LeSueur (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City), who is playing in her 104th career game, ranks second on the team, averaging 12.1 points and 3.5 assists. In her third season on the Hilltop after spending her freshman year at the University of Virginia, the Garden City, N.Y. native is now just the seventh player in Georgetown women's basketball history to surpass the 800-point, 200-assist and 400-rebound milestones. LeSueur set new career-highs with 24 points and ten free throws in the victory over Providence and LeSueur recorded her second double-double of the season (5th of her career) with 19 points and 11 rebounds vs Notre Dame. --- Freshman post player Katrina Wheeler (Washington, D.C./T. Roosevelt) has recorded double-doubles in seven games. Wheeler was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week on January 3 after averaging 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in victories over Florida Atlantic and Clemson. The 6-4 McDonald's All-American averages 8.7 points and ranks seventh and leading all BIG EAST freshmen with 8.6 rebounds. ---Freshman Nikki Bozeman (District Heights, Md./Bishop McNamara) has started in five of the last seven games. The District Heights, Md. native is averaging 2.4 points and is shooting 37 percent from the floor in 20 minutes per game. Bozeman played her prep ball at Bishop McNamara High in District Heights, Md., which was receiving votes in the latest USA Today poll. Bozeman had her best collegiate game vs Seton Hall, setting career highs with nine points, six rebounds and matching a career-high with five assists. ---The Hoyas have been plagued by long scoring droughts in five different games this season, all losses. In losses to Kentucky (12 min.in the second half), Connecticut (11 min in 1st half), St. John's (12:30 in 1st half), West Virginia (14:44 in 2nd half) and Rutgers (7 min. in 1st half), GU has been within striking distance before the disappearance of points has doomed the team's chances.
