Women's Basketball Defeats Fairleigh Dickinson, 70-46

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 17) - Freshman forward Rebekka Brunson (Oxon Hill, Md./Oxon Hill) led four Hoyas in double figures as GU defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 70-46. The Hoyas (2-1) started off slow, but went on a 13-2 run to start the second half to take control of the game.

    Santia Jackson (Chicago, Ill./The Latin School) came off the bench to record her second career double-double. The sophomore scored a career-best 14 points and added 13 rebounds. Senior Katie Smrcka-Duffy (Sterling, Va./James Madison) also had a double-double with 13 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Lesley Walker (Silver Spring, Md./Wheaton) chipped in with 10 points, five assists and three steals.

    Georgetown had an outstanding game on the backboards. The Hoyas outrebounded the Knights, 51-31. They had 27 offensive rebounds. For the third-straight game, GU also had more assists than turnovers.

    The Hoyas are off until Friday, Nov. 24th, when they face Marist in the first round of the DePaul Tournament. The game will be played in Chicago, Ill.
