Georgetown Women's Crew Finishes Seventh at BIG EAST Rowing Championship

Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's crews competed in the BIG EAST Rowing Championship on Sunday, April 29 at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. The Hoyas finished seventh overall with 34 points while Notre Dame won the overall title for their fourth straight BIG EAST rowing title.

The Hoyas were victorious in the Varsity Four Petite, finishing with a time of 8:00.58, almost 20 seconds ahead of their competitors from Rutgers and Villanova. Georgetown also finished second in two of the reaming three races they competed in, the Novice Grand Four and the Varsity Eight Petite.

In the Novice Grand Four, Georgetown finished 3.24 seconds behind Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish won three of the nine scheduled events, half of the races they competed in on the day. In the Varsity Eight Petite, the Hoyas finished 4.61 seconds behind a boat from Villanova.

118 - Notre Dame; 101* - Louisville; 101* - Syracuse; 69 - Cincinnati; 66* - Rutgers; 66* - Connecticut; 34 - Georgetown; 29* - Villanova; 29* - West Virginia

* In the event of a tie, placement in the Varsity Eight race shall be the tiebreaker.
