Women's Crew Wraps Up Regular Season

Washington, DC-- The Georgetown University women's crew team has neared the end of their regular season. Both the heavyweight and lightweight squads have been successful.

At the BIG EAST Championship held on April 24, the women's heavyweight crew 2nd Varsity 8 boat placed last in a time of 9:10.57. That was the only Georgetown boat to compete at the championships. The same weekend on April 23, the team competed against MIT. The Varsity 8 claimed victory over MIT, timing 6:50.12.

The women's lightweight crew faced MIT on April 30. The women's 2nd Varsity 8 was edged by MIT 7:49.8 to 7.55.69.

Both the varsity and lightweight teams will next compete on May 15 at the Eastern Sprints held in Camden, NJ.
