Washington, D.C. - This past Sunday, September 30, the Georgetown women had numerous boats take to the water and compete in the 27th Annual Charlie Butt Scullers' Head of the Potomac.

The women's open eight defeated five other boats to take their race with a time of 16:15.1 over the Thompson Boat Center's crew, which finished with a time of 16:54.0. The GU boat consisted of coxswain Bevin Reilly (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Academy), Melissa Horne (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk), Maria Lipperini (Collingswood, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep), Alexis Zink (Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Visitation), Erin Carter (Winchester, Mass./Winchester), Christianne Persenaire (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area), Victoria Koke (St. James, N.Y./Smithtown), Hannah Woit (Lexington, Mass./Lexington), and bow Morgan McGovern (San Francisco, Calif./Covent of the Sacred Heart).

The women's club eight "A" crew finished second out of nine entries with a time of 17:37.1, a little over 10 seconds behind the race-winner, Alexandria Community Rowing. GU's "B" crew ended up in third place with a time of 17:44.2. The women's open four saw the Hoyas place boats in second and sixth place, respectively.

Georgetown's next meet will take place on October 13 in Philadelphia, Pa., when the Blue and Gray take to the Schuylkill River for Navy Day.
