March 18, 2005
Washington, DC--For the only time this season, all of the Georgetown crews will race in the same place on the same day. Men, women, heavyweights, lightweights, freshman and varsity will all be racing in the Jesuit Invitational in Camden, New Jersey, on March 19. Georgetown will face crews from St. Joseph's, Boston College, Holy Cross and Loyola. The Hoyas look to defend the Cannonball Points Trophy. The races will run roughly from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. In days gone by, the crews would all have similar schedules and would travel and race together. Today, with different leagues and new rivals, the crews often end up in different parts of the country on any given weekend in April and May. This is an opportunity for supporters of the crew to gather and cheer on all our crews as they launch their 2005 racing season. Look for the "Georgetown Crew" tent on the grass near the finish line at Cooper River. For directions to the race course in Camden, please click here
