Washington, D.C. - The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced that Georgetown University junior Maria Lipperini had been named to the Pocock All-America Lightweight team for the 2007 season. This award recognizes the outstanding performances of lightweight rowers.

Lipperini was one of 10 lightweight student-athletes who were recognized as a Lightweight All-American Award winner. She joined Whitney Henry, Lauren Olsen, and Jeweliet Yost of Bucknell, Caitlin Corr and Caroline English of Princeton, Kristin Hedstrom and Christi Halleen of Wisconsin, Lesley Burkett of Harvard and Meredith Coleman of Stanford on the crew.

Awards were distributed based on results from the Grand Final at the IRA National Championships in the Collegiate Lightweight Women's Eight Division.
