Hoya Field Hockey Drops 5-0 Decision to No. 11 Louisville

Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown field hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 11 Louisville (STX/NFHCA) in BIG EAST play today at Kehoe Field. The Hoyas drop to 5-9 on the season, 0-5 in BIG EAST, while the Cardinals improve to 11-6 with a 4-1 mark in BIG EAST action.

The Cardinal defense rendered GU without a shot in the first half and led by two at halftime.

The second half saw a more aggressive Hoya offense as they produced two corner opportunities with freshman forward Chelsea Aiken (Hudson, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) taking shots off both chances. Aiken's first shot required a diving save from Cardinal goalkeeper Heather Bustanoby.

Louisville would go on to score three more goals for the 5-0 shutout.

Georgetown goalkeeper Deirdre Crovo (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) recorded four saves on the day as her record drops to 4-5.

The Hoyas return to action on Sunday, October 22 when they host Davidson on Kehoe Field. The game is slated for noon.
