WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Georgetown University women's golf team is tied with James Madison University for fifth place, shooting a 31-over par 315 after the first round of William & Mary's First Market Bank Intercollegiate at Ford Colony Country Club on Saturday.

Junior Chelsea Curtis (Mashpee, Mass./Cape Cod Academy) shot a one-under par 70 in the first round, tying Bradley's Bari-Lynn Erais atop the leaderboard. Curtis leads the tournament field with five birdies and par 4 scoring average (3.67). GU, as a team, has eight birdies.

Junior Carly Hunt (Easton, Pa./Conestoga) is in a three-way tie for ninth place after shooting a five-over par 76 after the first round. Hunt is tied for the lead with three other golfers with 13 pars.
