Two Georgetown University golfers are among the top-10 individuals as the women's golf team shot a 21-over par 305 to tie for third place among 20 teams after the first round of play at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, being hosted by East Carolina University at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C.

Georgia State shot a 15-over par 299 and holds a four-stroke lead over East Carolina, while the Hoyas are tied for third place with Nebraska at 305. Miami rounds out the top-five teams with a 24-over par 308, followed by William & Mary (26-over par 310) in sixth, Richmond (28-over par 312) in seventh and East Tennessee State, Florida International and Gardner-Webb (tied for eighth place at 30-over par 314).

Senior Carly Hunt (Easton, Pa./Conestoga) is tied for second place after firing a two-over par 73 in the first round. Hunt, along with Abby Bools of East Carolina and Blaire Minter of Western Carolina, is one shot off the pace of Florida International's Belen Buendia, who shot a one-over par 72.

Senior Chelsea Curtis (Mashpee, Mass./Cape Cod Academy) is two shots behind Hunt, one of four players tied for 10th place at four-over par 75.

Sophomore Robyn English (Warwick, R.I./St. Mary Academy) is tied for 20th place at six-over par 77, while freshman Joan Dulieu (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Da) is tied for 51st place at nine-over par 80 and freshman Eunae Jo (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) is tied for 90th place at 16-over par 87.

The second round of play will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday.
