Senior Chelsea Curtis (Mashpee, Mass./Cape Cod Academy) shot a tournament-best three-under par 68 in the final round, leading the Georgetown women's golf team to a sixth place finish of 20 teams at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina University at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C. Georgia State shot a 14-over par 298 in the final round to finish with a 30-over par 882, out-distancing host East Carolina by 17 strokes. Miami (Fla.) took third place with a final score of 913, which was followed by Nebraska (917) and Elon (920). Medalist honors went to Georgia State's Iliska Verwey (75-68-73=216) who finished one shot ahead of Florida International's Belen Buendia (72-75-70=217). Curtis was tied for 17th entering the final round after posting scores of four-over par 75 and six-over par 77 in the first two rounds, respectively. Her score of three-under par 68 in Tuesday's final round was tied for the tournament best with Verwey, who shot a 68 in the second round. Curtis finished the tournament at seven-over par 220, tied for third with Abby Bools of East Carolina. Senior Carly Hunt (Easton, Pa./Conestoga) shot a nine-over par 80 in the final round and finished tied for 23rd place at 17-over par 230. Sophomore Robyn English (Warwick, R.I./St. Mary Academy) and freshman Joan Dulieu (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day) tied for 51st place at 23-over par 236 and freshman Eunae Jo (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) tied for 87th place at 37-over par 250. This tournament concluded play for the Hoyas during the fall season. Georgetown posted four top-10 finishes in five tournaments and Curtis finished among the top-10 individuals in four events.
