Washington, D.C. - A pair of Georgetown University women's golfers posted top-20 finishes in the Women's Eastern Golf Association Amateur Championship, held earlier this week at the Independence Golf Club in Midlothian, Va.

Junior Chelsea Curtis (Mashpee, Mass./Cape Cod Academy) finished in seventh place and junior Carly Hunt (Easton, Pa./Conestoga) placed 20th in the field of 80 golfers.

Natalie Sheary, of Connecticut, topped the individual field with a three-round score of two-under par 214.

Curtis carded rounds of one-under par 71, three-over par 75 and two-over par 74 to finish with a three-day total of four-over par 220, six strokes off the pace.

Hunt, who transferred to Georgetown from Michigan State, finished in 20th place at 10-over par 226. She posted rounds of two-over par 74, six-over par 80 and even-par 72.

The strong performances by Curtis and Hunt came just a few days after Georgetown Head Coach Patty Post played in the McDonald's LPGA Championship.
