Ricky Fried is now in his fourth season at the helm of the Hoya program after serving as a Georgetown assistant coach in 2003 and 2004.

In his first three seasons, Fried has led the Hoyas to a 37-17 overall record and a 14-1 record in BIG EAST regular-season games. Georgetown has earned three straight BIG EAST regular-season titles under Fried's leadership and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals two times.

Fried also coached seven national All-Americans as well as the National Goalkeeper of the Year, two BIG EAST Offensive and three Defensive Players of the Year to go along with 16 BIG EAST first or second team selections.

Fried was named Associate Head Coach for the Hoyas in November 2003 and was involved in all aspects of the Hoya program but focused on an offensive unit that became one of the most potent in the nation. On the other side of the field, in 2003, Georgetown led the nation caused turnovers.

Prior to Georgetown, Fried was an assistant coach at Johns Hopkins University for nine seasons. While at the school, Fried served as the recruiting coordinator and helped build Hopkins into a Division I Top 20 program.

A 1988 graduate of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC), Fried was an All-American midfielder for the Retrievers lacrosse team. As a senior, he served as team captain, was named the team's Most Valuable Player and earned the team's Leadership Award. He was named to UMBC's All-Time Team in 1990. Fried arrived at Hopkins following a two-year stint as an assistant coach at the Gilman School. He also played professionally with the Philadelphia Wings from 1989 through 1992 and the Baltimore Thunder from 1993 through 1994 and 1997.

Fried is also active in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and its Ethics Committee and was recently elected to the IWLCA's Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Tewaaraton Trophy Committee, the NCAA Regional Selection Committee and the Regional All-America Committee.

In December 2006, Fried was named as an assistant coach for the U.S. Women's Lacrosse Elite Team, a post he's held for the two years.

He, his wife, Halyna, and their children, Jack (4) and Paige (2 1/2 ), reside in Columbia, Md.
